Christmas with Callie

For the second year, we spent Christmas with Auntie Lisa at her brother's pizza restaurant, Sorelli's. They make tons of delicious food and the big screen tvs mezmorize me. Here I am with my 'cousin' Hallie (I call her Callie). She always plays with me and sneaks me candy.

Trolley!

In December, the South Lake Union Trolley was free, so Mama took me for a ride. There's a red one, a purple one and here I am with the orange one. We boarded by the Hutch and rode to Westlake, the whole time I kept saying, "Look, there's the Space Noodle". Mama got the pronunciation worked out for me by the time we got downtown. We waved to Nordstrom Santa, saw the decorated Nutcrackers, had hot cocoa and watched the trains in the Macy's windows. A nice holiday treat.

Eating my mixed heritage

Papa's still finding pictures we forgot to post over the past few months. Here I am at Windward Mall in Kaneohe at Thanksgiving time. I'm dee-lighting in a Spam musubi hom bow. A perfect mix of my favorites, Spam "Busubi" and baked hom bow. Nothing beats the fruit punch in Hawaii either.

Bunk Bed Mania

This is me with 'Kura'. Took two trips from Ikea to actually get it, but now I'm happy. When Ana comes I wonder if she'll pick the top or the bottom to sleep on?

The Office

I got downsized. My previous office was larger, but we needed somewhere to put the Christmas decorations. Though compact, I'm still able to get work done on my laptop. Ask me, I really do call it my office. I'm not sure where to hang my 2008 motivational calendar though...

Gingerbread House with Poodles!

This year I really wanted to make a gingerbread house. My overachieving mother had visions of baking gingerbread and finding powdered egg whites for the royal icing, but instead settled on a box of Honey Maid graham crackers and a $1 jar of Betty Crocker frosting. FYI: 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar per 8oz frosting makes the frosting set up like mortar. I made an awesome village and for some reason, I call gumdrops, 'Poodles'.

Koi Boy

Here's a picture from the fabulous koi ponds at Ala Moana Mall in Honolulu. We took this picture when we went there at Thanksgiving. Why don't they have fun stuff like this at Northgate?

Kina, the opportunist

I've been sleeping in my big boy bed since August, but the dogs haven't seized the opportunity to sleep with me yet. Today must've been very cold for Kina to come in, but we both had a very very long sweaty nap.

Octopus Envy

My mama made this cute octopus for her coworker's baby shower. Hopefully she'll make me one too. It even jingles because she put a little cat toy inside. She reads all sorts of things on the internets. The free pattern is here, but you might have to sign up for it.

Mamigurumi Mustache

My mom is a little crazy, but she's starting to try her hand at amigurumi. Here is her original design of the Japanese new year kagami mochi with the mikan on top. Isn't it cute? I can say, its not that cuddly to sleep with though.
