This year I really wanted to make a gingerbread house. My overachieving mother had visions of baking gingerbread and finding powdered egg whites for the royal icing, but instead settled on a box of Honey Maid graham crackers and a $1 jar of Betty Crocker frosting. FYI: 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar per 8oz frosting makes the frosting set up like mortar. I made an awesome village and for some reason, I call gumdrops, 'Poodles'.

Graham cracker houses are great! Thanks for the cream of tartar tip. FYI I found egg white powder at Michael's (yay 40% off coupon) a couple of years ago. They had it with the birthday/wedding cake stuff.
